TICKETS GO ON-SALE TODAY, AUGUST 23
ULTRA RECORDS and the ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL organization have teamed up once again for the second annual ULTRA.NY--the ultimate New York City electronic music experience--returning to Central Park’s Rumsey Field Friday, September 22. Expected are appearances from dance music’s top-tier talents including headliners Moby and John Digweed.
Joining Moby and Digweed at this unique outdoor venue nestled underneath the leafy rooftop of Rumsey Field will be Soulwax Nite Versions (2ManyDJs live), Junkie XL (live), Benny Benassi, Boris and David Waxman. The entrance, located at 69th St. and Fifth Ave, doors open at 4:30 pm and close at 10:00 pm.
Last year upon its debut, ULTRA.NY--with a live performance from the Chemical Brothers, plus DJ sets from Paul Oakenfold, Danny Tenaglia, Erick Morillo and Timo Maas--sold out in advance, solidifying itself as the largest dance music festival to take place in the park. Wrote Justin Kleinfeld in Remix (November 2005), “…partygoers had the choice between Oakenfold on the main stage and Tenaglia in the Ultra tent. Capping off the night was a live set from the Chemical Brothers, when Ed Simmons and Tom Rowlands proved once again that nobody is even close to eclipsing their standard for live dance music.”
Tickets for ULTRA.NY will go on sale today (Wednesday, August 23) starting with a limited amount of tickets for $49.75 and will be available for purchase online exclusively through www.ultranewyork.com or at Satellite Records located at 250 Bowery St. With a capacity of 5,000, the event is expected to sell out so early ticket purchase is highly recommended.
About Ultra Music Festival:
Now in its ninth year, the Ultra Music Festival (UMF) has established itself as the world’s premiere dance music event cemented by being the recipient of the ‘Best Dance Event’ International Dance Music Award in 2005 and 2006. At their most recent festival, 2006’s Ultra Music Festival in Miami, UMF founders and producers Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes created a new dimension to the Ultra festival experience by infusing the all electronica line-up with indie-rock talents The Killers, Hard-Fi and Hot Hot Heat to headline their live stage. UMF (the official festival of Winter Music Conference) and Carry On (Ultra’s second annual 9,000 person capacity arena after party) drew more than 50,000 attendees and included festival headliners: The Prodigy, Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Tenaglia, Erick Morillo, The Orb, Richie Hawtin, Sander Kleinenberg, Roni Size, BT and hundreds more. www.ultramusicfestival.com
